New distance-learning program benefits working adults

The University has launched a new Associate in Arts Online program with courses offered entirely through distance-learning. The degree is designed to provide students with a foundation toward earning a future bachelor’s degree and résumé-building skills.

The web-based curriculum is aimed at working adult students who may not be able to attend classes in a traditional setting. Students also can transfer college credits into the program. For CD-ROM or web-based courses, on-campus lectures have been filmed in specially equipped studio classrooms. Students in the UD Online sections will see and hear actual faculty lectures, review notes and link to related resources online.

UD has been offering distance-learning courses since 1988 and is a national leader in the use of educational technology. More than 150 courses are available through distance-learning.
