Cross-country cyclist
Brian Highhouse, CHNS ’89, of Meriden, N.H., front row at left, joined five-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong and 19 other cyclists on the Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope Oct. 1-9. The riders, who trained for 16 weeks, relayed almost 3,500 miles from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., to raise awareness for cancer clinical trials. As an oncology nurse, Highhouse says he has learned the importance of cancer research and the need for additional trials to improve treatment options with fewer side effects.
