William Farquhar, assistant professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences, has been named a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. A world-renowned organization whose members include physicians, exercise scientists and physical therapists, the college selects only a small percentage of its members as fellows.
“The honor of being elected to fellow status is in contributing to an organization that brings together scientists, educators and physicians, all with the goal of advancing health,” Farquhar says.
A member of the CHNS faculty since 2002, Farquhar earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and exercise physiology and his master’s in cardiac rehabilitation and exercise science from East Stroudsburg University. He earned his doctoral degree in exercise physiology from Pennsylvania State University.
