Gold Guard luncheon
Forty-seven members of the Reunion Class of 1953 joined the University of Delaware Gold Guard at the Alumni Spring Luncheon held May 3 on campus.
A special group whose members have 50 years or more of alumni status, the University of Delaware Gold Guard celebration began with a morning reception at the President's house at 47 Kent Way, hosted by President and Mrs. David P. Roselle, followed by a campus bus tour and lunch at John M. Clayton Hall.
Celebrating their 70th reunion year during the luncheon were Winnie Mayer and Mildred Simon Cook, both of the Class of 1933. Six members of the Class of 1938 celebrated their 65th reunion; 18 members of the Class of 1943 and 17 members of the Class of 1948 also attended the event.
Distance traveled by alumni attending the luncheon was recognized as well.
