Rosenberg gifts support faculty and academic programs

Through a combination of charitable remainder trusts and bequests, the late Edward F. Rosenberg, AS '29, '30M, and his wife, Elizabeth Goodman Rosenberg, have provided the University with nearly $7 million in gfits. These gifts have created named professorships in the Professional Theatre Training Program, the Departments of Sociology and Criminal Justice, Art Conservation and Communications. They also provided graduate fellowships and program support in the Department of Art Conservation.

A nationally known rheumatologist, Dr. Rosenberg earned his medical degree from Jefferson University Medical School and a doctorate in internal medicine from the University of Minnesota. He held a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic and was a consultant there throughout his career. During World War II, he served in the Army Medical Corps and then went into private practice in Chicago, serving as chief of arthritis clinics for three major hospitals. In the fall of 1952, Dr. Rosenberg was awarded the University's Certificate of Professional Achievement.

Elizabeth Goodman Rosenberg, a graduate of the Curtis Institute, was a concert pianist and harpist. She married Dr. Rosenberg in 1934.

The Rosenbergs' support has provided major impetus to the Campaign for Delaware.
