Atlantic City

Despite a heavy pregame thunderstorm and light rain throughout the game, UD alumni and friends in Southern New Jersey had a great night at the Sandcastle in Atlantic City on Aug. 10. UD fans enjoyed a barbecue along the right field line before the game and then took their seats to watch the Atlantic City Surf lose to Nashua Pride, 1-0. Jeff Shirk BE '90, South Jersey Alumni Club coordinator, organized this first alumni outing at the shore, which included a fireworks show after the game.

Triangle Area Alumni Club

Nearly 25 UD alumni and friends from the Research Triangle area of North Carolina gathered July 16 for dinner at a local restaurant before watching the Durham Bulls take on the Toledo Mud Hens.

Northern Florida Alumni Club

Ed Williamson, BE '87, hosted an alumni event for Blue Hen alumni and friends who live in Northern Florida. Guests enjoyed a picnic supper prior to watching the Jacksonville Suns defeat the Orlando Rays, 2-0.

Atlanta

More than 70 UD alumni and friends gathered in Atlanta for a wine tasting event, hosted by Julie Harder, BE '96, Atlanta Alumni Club coordinator, Sept. 6. Alumni visited with other UD friends who live in the Atlanta area.

Traveling Hens

Nearly 200 UD alumni and Blue Hen football fans traveled to Statesboro, Ga., on Sept. 8, to watch the Fightin' Blue Hens take on the division 1-AA national champion Georgia Southern University. Before the game, fans enjoyed a tailgate under the UD tent. The southern hospitality did not extend to football games and the Blue Hens lost to the Eagles, 38-7.

Baltimore

UD alumni and friends from the Baltimore area gathered on Sept. 9 to watch the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens begin their quest for back-to-back championships. Fans enjoyed a brunch at the Baltimore Marriott before the game, then walked over to join the pregame celebration honoring the Super Bowl champs. The Ravens went on to defeat the Chicago Bears, 17-6.
