Audit Committee Seminar to aid corporate directors

A seminar to assist corporate directors in meeting newly established "financial literacy" standards will be held April 26-28 at MBNA America Hall on the University campus.

The Audit Committee Seminar, part of UD's Delaware Audit and Financial Reporting Institute for Corporate Directors, is sponsored by the College of Business and Economics' Center for Corporate Governance, in conjunction with the National Association of Corporate Directors, KPMG, the Institute of Internal Auditors and the law firm of Richards, Layton & Finger. Sessions will address such topics as financial reporting, internal and external auditing and legal responsibilities. All are designed to help directors meet the new requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission, New York Stock Exchange and National Association of Securities Dealers.
