Belmar, N.J.
More than 200 young UD alumni and friends gathered in Belmar, N.J., on Saturday, June 16, to celebrate the third annual UD Day at the Jersey Shore. Blue Hen alumni from 1989 to 2001 caught up with old friends and met the newest alumni. Despite a brief but tremendous downpour, alumni enjoyed an outdoor barbecue, played volleyball and relaxed under palm trees and umbrellas.
Camden Yards
Members of the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., area alumni clubs, joined by a group from the Southern Delaware alumni club, gathered for University of Delaware Day at Camden Yards on Sunday, June 24.
Nearly 250 UD alumni and friends gathered for a pregame lunch on the sixth floor of the Warehouse overlooking center field. Sharon Dorr, director of alumni and university relations, updated the group on the exciting changes to campus, including the DuPont Hall renovation and the new MBNA Career Services Center.
Chris Fleck, EG '94, of Ellicott City, Md., represented UD at home plate to receive the Heavy Hitter award from the Orioles as one of the largest groups in attendance. Despite support for the home team from UD alumni, the White Sox defeated the Orioles, 8-2.
