Alumni Club events

Nearly 30 recent UD graduates and friends joined Shelby (Rhoades) Sparrow '96AS for an alumni gathering Nov. 11 in Manayunk, Pa.

On Nov. 20, more than 200 UD alumni and friends enjoyed a catered brunch prior to the UD vs. Villanova football game at Villanova Stadium. Leading the game until the final minutes of play, the Blue Hens lost in overtime to Villanova, 45-51.

More than 50 UD Baltimore area alumni and guests attended a pregame brunch at Baltimore's Sheraton Inner Harbor, followed by a Ravens' game at PSINet Stadium on Dec. 5. The Ravens trounced the Super Bowl-bound Titans, 41-14.

On Dec. 8, nearly 300 recent UD graduates and their friends gathered for the third annual New York City Alumni Club holiday party. Jonathan Rosenbloom '97AS hosted the event at Sutton Place.

Thirty alumni from the Boston area enjoyed a Jan. 14 pre-game reception and watched the Blue Hens' men's basketball team defeat the Terriers, 62-59, in an America East match-up.

On Jan. 22, husband-and-wife team Ellen Lebowitz '79AS and Tom Palmer '81AS entertained alumni and friends on the Newark campus with a jazz concert. Many alumni also gathered early in the evening for a pre-concert dinner at the Blue and Gold Club.

The Washington, D.C., Alumni Club hosted UD Night at The Fish Market in Alexandria, Va., on Jan. 26.

Alumni of the College of Human Resources, Education and Public Policy (CHEP) attended a Feb. 5 pregame reception followed by a women's basketball game, where the Blue Hens took on Drexel University.

It was a cold Groundhog Day in Delaware, but plenty warm for Florida alumni, who took to the links at the Brooks in Bonita Springs. The event included golf and a reception, hosted by Ed, '59BE, and Judy Bennett, '63CHEP.

The Phoenix Alumni Club hosted a cocktail reception at the Double Tree Guest Suites on Feb. 24.
