Surrounded by free-form benches and curved plantings, the first flowing fountain on the Newark campus is now in place. Designed by artist Alice Adams of Bronx, N.Y., who specializes in public art projects, the environmental sculpture includes water jets that rise two feet and then flow over a granite cascade into a small pool. The fountain is the centerpiece of a new plaza constructed between Smith, Purnell, Ewing and Kirkbride halls.
