Nominations are being sought for several annual awards presented by the Office of Alumni and University Relations, including the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement, the Alumni Wall of Fame and the Outstanding Alumni Award.

To qualify for these awards, the nominee should be a graduate of the University or have completed at least 30 credit hours.

Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement

This award honors UD graduates of the last 20 years who exhibit great promise in their professional career and/or public service activities. Recipients will be recognized in the fall of 2000. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 11.

Criteria

• Nominees should be making significant contributions as demonstrated through tangible results, innovations, promotions and company or community recognition.
• UD graduates from the classes of 1980 through 1999 are eligible for consideration.
• A current re´sume´ and newspaper and magazine clippings about the nominee should be included with the nomination form.

Outstanding Alumni Award

For more than 50 years, the Alumni Association has honored graduates with the Outstanding Alumni Award in recognition of exemplary work on behalf of the University of Delaware and the Alumni Association. The Outstanding Alumni Awards will be presented at the annual Homecoming ceremonies next fall. Deadline for nominations is Jan. 11.

Criteria

• Nominees should exhibit exceptional volunteer work on behalf of the University and/or the Alumni Association.
• Service to the University may be a single act or it may be a long record of participation.
• Business and professional accomplishments, community service and other factors are considered secondary to University and/or Alumni Association service.
• Current UD employees, University trustees and current officers or directors of the Alumni Association are not eligible.
