
On July 28, Brad Bofford, AS 93, hosted a University of Delaware Night at the Black Bear in Hoboken, N.J. More than 150 UD alumni and friends from New York and northern New Jersey enjoyed the mid-summer event.
More than 25 recent alumni helped incoming freshmen move into Smyth Residence Hall in August. The Alumni Arrival Survival Team joined other teams of current UD students, faculty and staff to assist families with the moving-in task. The alumni team lugged, carried and lifted everything from pillows and stuffed animals to computers and small refrigerators.
More than 50 UD alumni gathered at the University Club in New York City Sept. 15 where UD President David Roselle spoke about new initiatives on campus.
Nearly 250 UD football fans met under the tent for a dinner preceding the Blue Hens vs. The Citadel football game on Sept. 11 in Charleston, S.C. Fans were also treated to pregame cheers by mascot YoUDee and the Cheerleaders. The Hens went on to beat The Citadel by a score of 26-16.
Chicago-area alumni joined Rob Phillips, AS 87, at Maggiano's Restaurant in downtown Chicago on Sept. 23. Those in attendance were excited to meet other alumni from the area and learn about changes on campus.
On Sept. 25, nearly 125 football fans gathered on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., for a buffet supper before watching the Blue Hens take on the Dukes.
Alumni from the Gulf Coast of Florida met at the Tampa Hyatt Regency for an afternoon reception on Sept. 25. The event featured a slide show of new construction and building renovations on campus.
Baltimore-area alumni enjoyed last years alumni event at Camden Yards so much, they decided to do it again. This years baseball and buffet gathering took place Sept. 30 and featured a pre-game barbecue dinner. Nearly 200 alumni and friends attended the event and game between the Orioles and New York Yankees.
More than 50 alumni and other diehard fans hit the road for the UD football game at Northeastern University in Boston on Saturday, Oct. 30. The event featured a pre-game mixer and a special appearance by the UD Cheerleaders.
