Campaign Goals

Endowed Scholarships. Undergraduate scholarships enable us to compete with other excellent universities for the most gifted students. For many outstanding students, scholarships make the university experience possible. A scholarship endowment will ensure that some of the brightest young men and women pursue their educational ambitions in the College for many years to come. You can establish and name an endowed scholarship with a Campaign gift of $25,000 or more. Larger gifts can provide an even more substantial level of student support.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $5 million

Endowed Fellowships. Graduate students play an invaluable role in our research endeavors. Fellowships help our graduate students defray tuition and living expenses, freeing them to concentrate on their studies rather than pursuing other means of support. As such, fellowships are the most effective means of competing for the very best graduate scholars from around the world. With a Campaign gift of $50,000 or more, you can establish and name a graduate fellowship that will ensure future scholars receive the education they need to meet tomorrow’s challenges
Minimum Campaign Goal: $2 million

Endowed Chairs and Professorships. The strength of the College is a reflection of our faculty. To further strengthen the College, it is imperative that we support and retain our outstanding faculty and recruit the most talented scholars to our departments. Endowed chairs and professorships will enable us to build an even more distinguished faculty that will contribute immeasurably to the development of our students through their teaching and mentoring and to the welfare of our region and nation through their research and service. Naming opportunities for faculty chairs require a minimum Campaign gift of $1 million. Named endowed professorships begin at $250,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $3 million

Endowment for Young Scholar-Teachers. The College’s continued vitality depends upon our ability to compete for the most talented young faculty. Their fresh energies and visions are essential building blocks for the future. In the years to come, their efforts will propel the College to even higher standards of achievement. Endowed funds earmarked for the support of new faculty will ensure that a continual stream of the best and brightest young faculty will launch distinguished careers at Delaware. The minimum level to name an endowment in this category is $100,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $2 million

Discovery-Based Learning Initiative. From class assignments that have students working in teams to solve real-world problems to internships that give students hands-on experience, the College is committed to providing students with opportunities to think creatively and independently and to apply their new knowledge in the professional world. Through the Campaign, you can contribute to a fund designed to help faculty incorporate problem-based learning methods into their courses and to support undergraduates who conduct research or participate in internships with local firms. Named endowment opportunities begin at $25,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $6 million

Facilities. Even with the recent renovations and addition to Colburn Laboratory, the growth of the College has outstripped our current facilities. We are planning an expansion of DuPont Hall that will accommodate our rapidly expanding departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Civil and Environmental Engineering. A minimum gift of $100,000 is required to name a room or laboratory in the new facility.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $14 million

Equipment Support. As an academic unit with significant research focus, the College is an equipment-intensive enterprise. To remain an educational leader, we must stay abreast of advances in technology. With a Campaign gift to support equipment acquisition, you will ensure that the College has the tools required for cutting-edge teaching and research. Naming opportunities are available with a gift of $25,000 or more.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $3 million

Dean’s Fund for Academic Excellence and Innovations. Expanded annual and unrestricted support for our programs is a key component of the Campaign. This type of support enables the College to respond quickly and effectively to new faculty and student initiatives and to enhance current academic programs through speakers, seminars, and conferences. It provides professional development resources for faculty and students and makes possible professional laboratory support. In short, it enables the College to move in exciting new directions as opportunities arise. Named endowment opportunities begin at $10,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $10 million
