Campaign Goals

Endowed Scholarships. The College is committed to the principle that access to education should not be restricted because of cost. For many outstanding students, scholarships make the university experience possible. Undergraduate scholarships also enable us to compete with other excellent universities for the most gifted students. A scholarship endowment will ensure that some 200 more young men and women can pursue their educational ambitions at the College for many years to come. You can establish and name an endowed scholarship with a Campaign gift of $25,000 or more. Larger gifts can provide an even more substantial level of student support.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $5 million

Endowed Graduate Student Support. Graduate students are important to the research mission of the College. They are also very likely to be tomorrow’s leaders in business and government. Still, graduate education requires a personal sacrifice for many of these students who forgo attractive incomes to return to full-time graduate studies. Fellowships and scholarships help our graduate students defray the costs of tuition and living expenses. Financial support for graduate students is the most effective means of competing for the very best graduate scholars from around the world. With a Campaign gift of $50,000 or more, you can establish and name a graduate student fellowship or scholarship that will ensure future leaders receive the education they need to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $1 million

Endowed Professorships and Fellowships. The strength of the College is a reflection of our faculty. Through their research, professors are a vital source of new knowledge. In the classroom, they are an inspiration to students. Through their service to the community, they contribute to the welfare of our region and our nation. By establishing at least five new endowed professorships or fellowships for faculty, you can help us attract, retain, and reward outstanding faculty or recruit top scholars to our departments. By establishing endowments for support for junior faculty, you will play an essential role in bringing these young scholars to the College and fulfilling the promise of excellence they bring with them. Named endowed chairs begin at $1 million and named endowed professorships begin at $250,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $5 million

Discovery-Based Learning Initiative. From class assignments that have students working in teams to solve real-world problems, to internships that give students hands-on experience in the corporate world, to programs that enhance a student’s grasp of technology and globalization, the College is committed to providing students with opportunities to think creatively and independently and to apply their ideas to real business problems. Through the Campaign, you can contribute to a fund designed to help faculty incorporate team and problem-based learning methods into their courses and to support undergraduates who conduct research, participate in study abroad, or pursue experiential learning via internships. The minimum level to name an endowment in this category is $25,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $2.4 million

Facilities and Equipment Support. To remain an educational leader, the College must provide effective, safe, and technologically integrated facilities. With major gifts already in hand, the University was able to build MBNA America Hall. In the fall of 1997, we dedicated the building, and it is already an indispensable part of our educational experience. However, along with funds for these facilities, we also need funds to stay abreast of new advances in technology. If we are to prepare our students adequately to enter the corporate world, they must have experience using the same hardware and software that serve as today’s industrial standards. With a Campaign gift to support our facilities or equipment acquisition, you will also ensure that the College has the space and the informational tools needed to pursue cutting-edge research and the best in education. Naming opportunities begin at $50,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $4.2 million

Dean’s Fund for Academic Excellence and Innovation. Consistent annual support for our programs enables the College to respond quickly and effectively to new faculty, student, or industry initiatives; to enhance our current academic programs through speakers, seminars, and conferences; to provide research, teaching, and professional development resources for faculty, and to move in exciting new directions as opportunities arise. Named endowment opportunities begin at $25,000.
Minimum Campaign Goal: $3.5 million
