The College of Business and Economics

Sustaining A Legacy

The best business deals create a "win-win" situation for the parties involved. At the College of Business and Economics, the Corporate Associates Program exemplifies this philosophy.

Through this program, a company provides a stipend for a student enrolled in the College’s MBA Program. In return, the student works for the sponsoring corporation, part-time during the school year and full-time during summer and winter breaks. The University awards a tuition scholarship to the student.

This simple concept results in numerous benefits for the employer, the student, and the College. It gives our corporate partners a tool for recruiting and evaluating top talent from around the country. It covers students’ educational and living expenses while providing excellent work experience. And it enables the College to recruit from among the best prospective students and develop closer ties with the corporate community.

Participants in the program have included various local corporations such as Corporation Service Company; the DuPont Company; FiberVision; W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc.; Hercules, Inc.; NetWatch; Siemens AG; Sterling Diagnostics; and Wilmington Trust Company. There are currently 15 students pursuing their degrees through the program, and we hope to continue increasing the number of opportunities available.
