Opportunities for naming an endowed fund start at the following minimum levels:
| Undergraduate scholarship endowments | $25,000 |
| Graduate fellowship endowments | $50,000 |
| Endowed professorships (supplemental) | $250,000 |
| Endowed chairs | $1-3 million |
| Other funds | $25,000 |
All gifts toward endowments are placed in the University's endowment holdings, where they are pooled for investment purposes. Each year, part of the investment income is used to support the fund’s stated purpose. The remainder is reinvested in the principal as a shield against inflation and as a tool for growth.
