Giving to Delaware
Sustaining a Legacy
There is no question that the University of Delaware is leading the way into the 21st century. With innovative educational programs, with cutting-edge research, with service to the broader community, and with technological support for its activities, the University has carved a unique niche in the higher education landscape. Wherever you look—in classrooms, laboratories, residence halls, and offices—you’ll find the stimulating atmosphere of intellectual curiosity and discovery that marks a truly great university.

The University has gained significant momentum over the past decade. The Campaign for Delaware has been launched in order to sustain that momentum. Building and maintaining premier educational programs is a costly undertaking. The Campaign is the first comprehensive effort for private support in the University's history, and with a goal of at least $225 million in five years, it is also the most ambitious.

However, future generations will not judge our success by whether we met our goal in dollars and cents but rather by how we used the funds to improve the University. And while "bricks and mortar" remain an important part of the Campaign for Delaware, our most important focus is people. To recruit and retain the most outstanding students and faculty—and to support their endeavors with appropriate resources and first-class facilities and technology—is the primary goal of the Campaign.

To realize our vision for the future and leave our successors with a legacy of excellence, we are turning to you, our alumni and friends, with the understanding that your commitment is an essential part of our continued development. Your gift in support of one of the following Campaign goals is crucial not only to the future of the University, but also to that of the region and the nation. It is a gift to the many institutions that depend on the energy and expertise of our faculty and graduates. It is a gift to support the creation of new knowledge and new solutions. And it is a gift to those in the broader community who rely on the University of Delaware for information, inspiration, and assistance.
