The University has gained significant momentum over the past decade. The Campaign for Delaware has been launched in order to sustain that momentum. Building and maintaining premier educational programs is a costly undertaking. The Campaign is the first comprehensive effort for private support in the University's history, and with a goal of at least $225 million in five years, it is also the most ambitious. However, future generations will not judge our success by whether we met our goal in dollars and cents but rather by how we used the funds to improve the University. And while "bricks and mortar" remain an important part of the Campaign for Delaware, our most important focus is people. To recruit and retain the most outstanding students and facultyand to support their endeavors with appropriate resources and first-class facilities and technologyis the primary goal of the Campaign.
