P. Coleman Townsend Jr. is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Townsends, Inc., a poultry, agri-products and prepared foods company headquartered in Millsboro, Delaware. Founded in Delaware as a lumber business in the early 1890s by John G. Townsend Jr., Townsends, Inc., employs 4,200 employees (approximately 2,000 in the state of Delaware). Mr. Townsend is a 1969 graduate of the University of Delaware and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Science. Currently, Mr. Townsend sits on the board of directors for Baltimore Trust Company, Liberty Mutual Advisory Board, National Broiler Council, and Delaware Business Roundtable. In addition, Mr. Townsend is also associated with Beebe Medical Center Foundation, Delaware Public Policy Institute, Delaware Art Museum and Delaware Historical Society. He is a chair of the Trustee Committee on Arts and Humanities, and a member of the Science, Agriculture and Engineering and Executive Committees. |
