Student Travel Award

NEW APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND DEADLINES

The Commission on the Status of Women is pleased to announce that the Student Travel Award Program has been funded for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. The awards are intended to improve the position of women at the University of Delaware in two ways: by encouraging all graduate and undergraduate students to present scholarly papers and participate in panel discussions and other activities dealing with women's issues; and by supporting women students' participation in professional organizations. It is operated as a matching fund to assist academic departments and other administrative units in supporting travel for students and for men participating in professional activities involving women's issues.

Faculty members may nominate students for Student Travel Awards or student may self-apply. Applications are available through the Office of Women's Affairs, in the office or by downloading the form below. The deadline for fall semester submission is October 5, 2007. The deadline for spring semester submission is March 7, 2008. Awards will be reviewed and announced by October 19, 2007 for fall applications and March 21, 2008 for spring applications.
