University Services for Students
Writing Center

Whether you are a freshman taking E110 or a graduate student writing a
dissertation, the Writing Center can help improve your writing skills. We
will not proofread or edit your papers, but our instructors teach you to
revise and edit your own papers. We work with you on essay skills such as
focus, organization, and style; sentence level skills such as syntax and
diction; and mechanics such as spelling and punctuation. E110 essays, lab
reports, resumes, graduate school application essays, term papers, theses,
dissertations, and any other academic writing may all be dealt with. In
addition, the Writing Center offers workshops upon request in such aspects
of writing as term papers, documentation, punctuation, and essay exams.
Students whose native language is not English can receive help in both
spoken and written English from experienced staff members.
