University Services for Students
Reading Study Center

The Reading Study Center offers selected students the opportunity to be
trained in the remedial method used in its classes and, after completing a
practicum, employment as a teacher's assistant in the program. The classes
provided are for students from the community, in grades 1 through 12,
experiencing difficulty with reading, spelling and writing. During the
school year these classes are held between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and, for
six weeks in the summer, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Selected students not
only have the opportunity to be paid to help others, but can also learn a
successful remedial method for future use as teachers.
