RADON MONITORING PROGRAM

Since 1987, the Department of Occupational Health and Safety has conducted over 100 radon surveys in University-owned buildings to assess the radon exposure to occupants. Corrective actions are employed whenever occupants are exposed to levels exceeding the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) action level of 4 picocuries of radon per liter of air.

Each year approximately 10 additional radon surveys are performed. Any member of the University community may request a radon survey of their workplace by contacting Tara Reynolds, Department of Occupational Health and Safety at 831-0690.

Questions regarding radon monitoring may be addressed to William Fendt at WFendt@udel.edu or call 831-1434.
