| Summer is
a time for increased vigilance against the dangers of over-exposure to
ultra-violet (UV)
radiation. In summer, the sun is higher in the sky than other seasons
and the earth's atmosphere
provides us with less protection from the UV component of sunlight. Also
we tend to spend more time
outdoors during the summer. In 2008 it is expected that about 62,000
persons will develop a skin
melanoma; 65% of these cases will be caused by exposure to UV.continue>>>
