First Aid Training Program
The Department of Occupational Health and Safety is pleased to be
able to offer the American Heart Association's Heartsaver First Aid
Training Program. This program instructs attendees in basic first aid. A
CPR and AED component can be added if necessary. Due to the length of the
full First Aid Class, it can be scheduled over two days. Contact OHS to setup and
schedule a class.
- Heartsaver First
Aid - The
Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in
the few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes
General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. Optional
topics include CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies.

- Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid - The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course teaches how to
manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until
professional help arrives. Topics include First Aid Basics, Medical
Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, Environmental Emergencies, Optional First
Aid Topics, and CPR and AED. This course is approved by Delacare for
childcare providers. This class is not routinely scheduled, please
contact OHS if want on to schedule a class.

The American Heart
Association strongly promotes knowledge and
proficiency in BLS, ACLS and PALS and has developed instructional
materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational
course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart
Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent
income to the Association.
