Fire Investigation

Fire investigations are completed to determine causes in order to prevent recurrences which can result in additional injury or property damage. Every effort is made to complete investigations in a timely manner. This is accomplished by the joint effort of the Department of Public Safety, City Fire Marshal, and the Fire Protection Engineer. The City Fire Marshal has the responsibility to coordinate these investigations and to maintain files of such reports.

This service is provided to the University of Delaware Community. Any questions or concerns related to the Fire Protection/Fire Prevention Program should be addressed to Kevin McSweeney or call 831-6847.
