Air Management Program

The Department of Occupational Health & Safety is responsible for assuring that all air emission sources at the University of Delaware are properly permitted according to state and federal regulations. Boilers account for 95% of the total air emissions at the University. Other sources of air emissions include laboratory fume hoods, printing presses, pathological incinerator and degreasers.

The University filed an updated facility-wide air emission permit with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) on June 1, 2007 as mandated by the Clean Air Act of 1990.

Each year the Department of Occupational Health & Safety files a report with DNREC on its total facility emissions. Emissions reported for calendar years 2005, 2006, and 2007 were:
