Chemical Waste Resources for Art Studios

Painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramic studios use hazardous materials and generate chemical waste. The operations that occur in these studios are very similar to a research or teaching laboratory and the same set of safety and environmental rules and requirements apply. Artist and art students must be cognizant of the hazards associated with their operations and manage all chemical waste generated properly. Use the following resources to assist you when managing art wastes.

  • University of Delaware Policy 7-18 Hazardous Waste Disposal
  • Laboratory Chemical Waste Management Procedures
  • Recycling and Waste Minimization Resources
  • Disposal and Management Guidance
  • Laboratory Spill Clean Up Procedures
  • Chemical Spill Kit Program
  • Printmaking
  • Painting
  • Ceramics and Sculpture
  • Photography
  • Online Chemical Waste Training
  •              waste pickup
request

Questions regarding chemical waste issues may be addressed to Murray Tate or call 831-0690.
