Quality Care for Vulnerable Populations
- historically focusing on caring for families with frail elders -
The UD Nursing Center
provides a wide variety of health promotion, education and disease
management services. Students and faculty with a special interest
in providing care for underserved populations, especially frail elderly
and their families, work together to provide health services and
community resource support. Care is coordinated by advanced
practice nurses (APNs) working in collaboration with geriatric and
family physicians from Westside Health in Wilmington, Delaware.
The faculty of the UD Nursing Center pursue research related to
frail elders, access to care, and tobacco cessation.
The overall mission of the UD

This mission is accomplished through nursing education, outreach
services, theoretical development, and research inquiry.
