Application
The University of Delaware Dietetic Internship participates in the computer matching process. You must submit your computer card to D & D Digital Co. on or before the deadline in order to be considered for placement in this internship. The card is available from your Didactic Program Director at your college of university. The internship director DOES NOT furnish these cards to prospective applicants. If you do not submit a computer card, you cannot be matched with a dietetic internship.
Our computer matching numbers are as follows: Computer Match # 223
Please Note: The GRE is no longer required for application to the dietetic certificate program.

We utilize the application form provided by the American Dietetic Association. A copy of this application is linked below.
Please include a personal letter of application as part of your internship application packet. Use this letter of application as an opportunity to tell us something about yourself -- your goals and professional career plans, your expectations of the internship, etc.
Please give careful consideration to the people you ask to write you recommendations. We require three professional references as part of our internship application packet, but we do not specify the position of the persons who furnish references. To give your application the best possible chance in a competitive environment, it is important that the people who furnish your references know you and can attest to your abilities and accomplishments. Since we require some work experience (either paid or volunteer) as a qualification for our internship, a reference from someone who has known you in a work environment would be appropriate. For more information on preparing your application, please view the video-streamed presentation on the application process.
Use the following criteria when deciding if you would like to be a candidate for full time or part time status. Please indicate your preference in your personal letter.
- We will ONLY offer the full-time position (29 weeks: 1 week orientation in August + 2 academic semesters), check full time on the application checklist.
When planning your own schedule, please note the you can begin rotations after completion of the onsite orientation held on the Campus of the University of Delaware.
In your application packet, you must also include information about your selected preceptors and facilities. If you are applying for a rotation in the State of Delaware, you DO NOT submit facility/preceptor information. Please refer to the application materials. Contact the Internship faculty for specific information if you have questions on how to complete the necessary paperwork for the distance internship option. At our option, we may contact your selected preceptor during the selection process if we need more information.
If you have any questions as you complete this application, please do not hesitate to call or write one of the Internship Faculty.
Pre-Select Application Procedure (Available to UD Didactic Students only)
The University of Delaware participates in the preselect option for students from the Didactic Program in Dietetics from the University of Delaware. Please note that if preselected, you are NOT eligible to participate in the computer matching process for the yearly match. Students will be notified by the program director regarding their status. The DI program director will provide the name and social security number of all students preselected for the 2007-2008 internship year to D&D Digital Systems, Inc. to ensure that they do not participate in the computer match.
