The Medical Scholars Program is a combined 8 year academic program for students who are certain that they want to become physicians and who want a program of study that blends the scientific and cultural aspects of the profession. It leads to a B.A. in Liberal Studies from the University of Delaware and an M.D. from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
The curriculum ranges from traditional medical subjects to courses in humanities, social sciences, economics, and political science. Small group discussions, problem-based instruction, and hands-on experience encourage students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and effective communicators. |
