The Office of Institutional Research (IR) collects data from both internal and external sources, and turns this data into information to support planning, decision-making, and policy formulation at the University of Delaware. The IR team assists personnel in other University units with survey research and assessment methodology, evaluation, and data analysis. The IR team responds to diverse requests for data from members of the University community (faculty and staff, students, parents, and alumni), as well as other higher education stakeholders including government agencies, media, corporations, and our colleagues at other institutions. IR coordinates the University of Delaware Enterprise Warehouse (UDEW) and consults with the campus community to facilitate the development of reports from the various data marts (e.g., Student, Human Resources, and Financials). This includes responding to requests in support of Revenue-Based Budgeting (RBB) and training campus users of COGNOS. University of Delaware IR is also home to the National Study of Instructional Costs and Productivity (the Delaware Study).
