Kathy Hirsh-Pasek Ph.D. is the Stanley and Deborah Lefkowitz Faculty Fellow in Psychology at Temple University in Philadelphia where she directs the Infant Language Laboratory. She is also a researcher in the NICHD Study of Child Care and Youth Development, one of the largest studies of children's lives. She has written over 80 pubished articles and 6 books. She is the current Associate Editor of Child Development. A mother of three sons, she also composes and performs children's music.

Roberta Michnick Golinkoff Ph.D. is the H. Rodney Sharp Professor in the School of Education at the University of Deleware where she holds joint appointments with the Department of Linguistics and Psychology and directs the Infant Language Project. Recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, Roberta has authored 7 books and 90 published articles. She is the mother of a son and a daughter.
