Phi Alpha Theta

Advisor: Professor Stuart Semmel

Phi Alpha Theta, the international Honor Society in History, has a chapter on the campus of the University of Delaware. To be eligible for membership, an undergraduate student must complete at least twelve semester hours in history, receiving a better than "B" average in all the History courses taken, and at least a "B" average in two-thirds of the other courses. Phi Alpha Theta, with chapters on college campuses in all fifty states, as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the Philippine Islands, is one of the most respected honor societies in the country. Its student members are eligible for a number of prizes and scholarship awards annually.

Initiation is held each spring for eligible students. Letters of invitation are mailed in early February. For more information, contact Cathy DiTommasso at the Department of History, 236 John Munroe Hall.
