the breadth and depth of imperialism’s impact on the world.
Conversely, how did the colonial imperial world affect western
society? How did
imperialist assumptions embed themselves into everyday western
life? Do these sources reveal moral and ethical reservations
about
imperial activity?
2. Compare the cliché of the harem with Halid’s informed
assessment. Can the harem be compared with western family
traditions?
3. Read Galton’s excerpt on Eugenics. What are the proposed goals of this science? Can morality be separated from science?
