Dissertation Summary
This project compares the development of political economies and their attendant public discourses in Wilmington, Delaware and New Haven, Connecticut. The purpose of the study is to determine the countours of the interrelationship between national, and state and local political economies, and the impact of political economy upon identity formation in the early republic.
