John Patrick Montaño specializes in early modern English and Irish history. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University. His publications include Culture and Society in the Stuart Restoration (ed. by Gerald MacLean, 1995) and Courting the Moderates: Ideology, Propaganda and the Emergence of Party (2002). He is currently working on a book on Irish plantation policies from 1550-1650.
