John M. McLarnon is an Associate Professor of History at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. A native of Delaware County, PA, he served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970. After working in various trades, he matriculated at Millersville University in 1988. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree Summa cum Laude in History and Philosophy in 1993 and subsequently earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in American History from the University of Delaware, finishing in 1998. He joined the History faculty at Millersville in 1999 where he teaches a variety of courses in 20th century American and Latin American history. He is the author of Ruling Suburbia, a study of the political machine that has dominated Delaware County since the late 19th century and of several articles on political and civil rights history in Pennsylvania.
