LEE. J. HYNCIK ATHLETIC TRAINER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Lee J. Hyncik graduated in 1980 from the University Of Delaware. During his tenure at UD he was a student-athlete and member of the tennis team. After his untimely death, his parents set-up two scholarship awards in his name: one to a member of the tennis team, and the other to recognize a member of the athletic training program. Lee’s brother, William G. Hyncik, Jr. graduated from the ATEP and is now Director of Princeton Orthopedic Associates, PA in Princeton, NJ. This award recognizes an outstanding junior athletic training student who has demonstrated academic proficiency and is dedicated to the care of athletes. Additionally the student must display consistent improvement in the field of athletic training, be self-motivated, make a significant contribution to the goals and objectives of the team, and lastly demonstrate exceptional moral character as exemplified by the life of Lee J. Hyncik. Criteria: cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 and traits listed above. Selected by the ATEP Steering Committee. The honor includes a cash award, recognition certificate, name engraved on a plaque that hangs in the UD athletic training facility that hangs in the Bob Carpenter Center. The student will also be recognized at the College of Health Sciences Honor’s Day Ceremony.
