POLICY
University personnel are not permitted to accept money, goods, services, entertainment, or any form of gratuity either directly or indirectly from any individual or company interested in business or financial relations with the University. The University does not permit personal, mail, or e-mail solicitations or requests for contributions for charitable or other purposes, including the sales of chances, lottery and raffle tickets, magazines, Christmas cards, and similar items.
University personnel are not permitted to solicit contributions for charitable or other purposes, payment for goods, services or entertainment from co-workers, supervisors, students, faculty or guests. An exception is made annually for the United Way and the Employee Campaign coordinated through the Development Office; any other group wishing an exemption must obtain written authorization from the Vice President for Administration prior to solicitation. Vendors of products or services are required to obtain the permission of the Director of Purchasing in order to call upon staff members.
