POLICY AND PROCEDURES MANUAL
The University of Delaware Policy and Procedures Manual includes most general University policies and does not preclude the addition of policies as new or revised ones are developed. Departmental and college policies, and certain safety regulations, have been excluded but may be obtained from the appropriate unit. The manual has been developed to achieve the following objectives:
-
Provide, along with the Board of Trustees Bylaws and Permanent Resolutions, the Board of Trustees Policy and Regulatory Resolutions, Faculty Handbook, the Collective Bargaining Agreements, the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual for Professional and Salaried Staff Members, Student Guide to Policies, a source for written policies affecting University personnel.
-
Encourage the continuing review and improvement of policy, practices, and procedures.
The manual is divided into the following functional sections:
- Administrative
- Facilities
- Financial
- Personnel
- Procurement & Auxiliary Services
- Research
- Safety & Security
-
NUMBERING SYSTEM
Each policy and procedure is assigned a number corresponding to the subject tab followed by a dash (-) and the consecutive number issued under this subject. Consecutive point numbers may be added as required to provide for the grouping of related policy material.
-
CHANGES TO, OR REQUESTS FOR NEW PROCEDURES
All requested changes to policies and procedures should be forwarded in writing to the Office of the Executive Vice President via the appropriate vice president. When requesting changes, please submit the original policy using strikeouts for deletions and italics for additions.
-
MAINFRAME ACCESSIBILITY
The Policies and Procedures Manual is available to University personnel on the University computer network as part of the UDInfo system. There is no hard copy distribution.
