OVERVIEW

 The Treasurer's Department is responsible for ensuring the financial health of the University of Delaware by providing the following services essential to achieving the University's mission: Financial Information, Cash and Investment Management, Resource Stewardship, and Financial Counsel and Planning.

To provide these financial services, the Treasurer's Department is organized around the following five administrative units:

OFFICE UNITS



FINANCIAL SERVICES

The Associate Vice President for Financial Services and Associate Treasurer acts as liaison between the University and banking companies, Federal and State auditors, and financial brokers as it undertakes such responsibilities as financing, accounting and gift processing. Many of the accounting functions are carried out by the General Accounting Office, which is responsible for monitoring cash flow, processing entries to the General Ledger, and reconciling University bank accounts. Financial analysis service, assistance with reports, Departmental Accounting System, and Chart of Accounts maintenance are available from these offices. Long and short-term borrowing projects are negotiated by the Associate Treasurer, as well as coordinating the publication of the University's annual financial statements. Qualified University employees are encouraged to participate in the University Mortgage Program, the Neighborhood Mortgage Program, and/or the Home Purchase Assistance Program which assist personnel in the purchase of a home. All gifts to the University are processed and receipts reconciled through the Gifts Processing Office.
