The Assistant Vice President for Affirmative Action
and Multicultural Programs oversees the following units:
Office of Affirmative Action
The Office monitors the University's Affirmative
Action Program and works with academic departments and administrative
units to set annual goals for enhancing the representation of women
and under represented groups at all employment levels of the University. Office
staff are also available to advise employees who believe that they
may have been the subject of discrimination. In addition, the office
provides diversity education for faculty, staff and students, and serves as
the administrative arm for the Commission
to Promote Racial and Cultural Diversity.

Lesbian
Gay Bisexual Transgendered Community Concerns (LGBT)
The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered Community
Concerns serves as an information and resource center for the University's
LGBT community. Office staff are available to discuss issues of
particular concern to lesbian, gay and bisexual faculty, staff and
students, provide programming and, where indicated, offer support
services and/or refer students and employees to other appropriate
offices. Students and employees can also contact HAVEN, a student-run
organization, for information and assistance.

Women's Affairs (OWA)
Women's Affairs promotes an awareness and an understanding of issues that impact directly on
women faculty, staff and students. The Office provides confidential
support services and advocacy for women's concerns, including sexual
harassment; offers programs that address women's concerns, such
as health issues and balancing work and family responsibilities;
and provides administrative support for the Commission
on the Status of Women.
