| It is the responsibility
of the Vice President for Administration to provide leadership and
assure that University of Delaware employees are productive, creative
and perform effectively in an increasingly diverse environment.
Indeed, keeping channels of communication open among and between
employee groups is the hallmark of the Office of the Vice President
for Administration. The Vice President for Administration and, by
extension, the units and offices reporting to the Vice President
are committed to:
- maintaining a competitive compensation program
for
faculty and staff
- fostering a campus climate that appreciates
the strengths of a diverse workforce and student body
- promoting an organizational culture that
emphasizes standards of high performance
- and assuring that the University's students,
faculty and staff are safe and well protected
The Vice President works with the Provost
and College deans in developing academic personnel policies; negotiates
collective bargaining agreements with the AAUP, the faculty bargaining
agent, and handles all faculty grievances, including those that
proceed to arbitration. Legal matters affecting faculty and staff
are also handled by the Vice President in concert with outside labor
council.
