Students with disabilities who are considering attending the University of Delaware are often interested in knowing what services the Office of Disability Support Services can provide. On our website, you will find detailed information regarding the process for becoming eligible to receive accommodations. However, we understand you may be interested in speaking with someone in addition to the information you find on our website. If you would like to speak to a staff member in the office, you may do so while visiting the university during your tour, or you may also call. We are happy to answer your questions, but, please keep in mind, we cannot make any guarantees and it is our policy that we will not review any documentation until a student has accepted their admission to the university by placing a deposit.
Pre-admission inquiries about disabilities are not allowed by colleges and you do not have to self-identify as a person with a disability until you are admitted and decide to attend. Please do not send disability documentation to the admissions office; it will not be forwarded to the DSS Office, nor does it constitute notice of disability status.
Tours of campus can be arranged by contacting the visitor's center, www.udel.edu/visit. Please allow time for them to make any accommodations that are necessary.
