Information for Submission of Poster Presentations
SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL OCTOBER 9, 2009
The planning committee of Advancing Nursing: Developing Excellence in EBP and Research invites you to submit an abstract to be considered for poster presentation at the annual conference. We are seeking poster presentations that contain subject matter of interest to nurses and health care providers working in all areas of nursing. These posters should describe original research or evidence-based practice projects, either completed or in progress. All submissions undergo peer review.
Abstracts are limited to 300 words or less (excluding authors’ names and contact information) and must be received by or on October 9, 2009. Please review carefully the following instructions, as incomplete submissions will not be reviewed for consideration.
Instructions for Submission
- Please send an electronic version of your abstract as an attachment using the Poster Abstract Submission Form. This is a 3-page Microsoft Word form available for download at this site. (If your browser does not automatically ask if you want to save the file when you click on this link, click on "File" in your browser's menu bar, and use "Save as" to save this file to your own computer.) This form is intended to be completed electronically as a Microsoft Word document and submitted by e-mail.
- Text must be typed in 12-pt font, Times New Roman or Arial, and limited to no more than 300 words and must fit in the abstract box provided. (Click here to see two sample abstract submissions: Research Abstract Sample, EBP Project Abstract Sample)
- Include the last name, followed by the first and middle initials for each author.
- Provide the organization’s name with which the primary author is affiliated, followed by the location (city and state).
- Title
- The body of the abstract must include:
- Purpose of the research or evidence-based practice project
- Background & significance
- Methods (sample/target population, data collection procedure/measurement tools, evaluation/analysis)
- Conclusions and specific implications (or status of study/project in progress)
- Source(s) of funding or support for the project, program or document detailed in the abstract must be disclosed.
- Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information in the abstract. Abstracts will appear as submitted in the book of proceedings.
- E-mail the Poster Abstract Submission Form to mseckel@christianacare.org.
- NEW NOTIFICATION DATE! Accepted abstract presenters (corresponding author) will be notified by letter/electronic mail on or before October 16, 2009.
