Bio
Manuel Torres is a Sociology Graduate student in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware. He received a B.A. in Sociology and a B.S. in Criminal Justice at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at the Disaster Research Center. Manuel came to the center to fulfill his interest of studying disasters and collective behavior. His work at the center is primarily related to the study of inter-organizational dynamics in Urban Search and Rescue. Other disaster research interests include organizational coordination, inequality in disaster relief, and risk perception to disasters. Additional Sociological interests include social movements, racial inequality and gender inequality
