Lauren
Barsky is a Sociology Graduate student in the Department
of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware.
She is currently a Graduate Research assistant at the Disaster
Research Center. Lauren came to the center after gaining
an interest in disaster studies as an undergraduate research
assistant at the Millersville Disaster Research Group. Her
work at the center is primarily related to the study of
inter-organizational dynamics in Urban Search and Rescue.
Other disaster research interests include media coverage,
disaster myths, and organizational coordination. Additional
Sociological interests include collective behavior and deviance.
