DESCRIPTION: Topics addressed
included the impact of international and cross-national studies on the field
of disaster research. Panelists discussed the challenges, barriers, and benefits
to these types of collaborative studies; in addition to future efforts that
should be made regarding the pursuit of cross-national studies. More specifically,
how America can expand its research agenda to actively incorporate international
relations.

was dedicated to the discussion and analyzation of training new researchers.

training methods, including preparation for inter-disciplinary work and
funding issues.
