Graduate Research Assistant
Ashley is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2007, and her Masters in Criminal Justice in 2011, both from Eastern Kentucky University. Her Masters thesis examined the militarization and policing of disasters in the United States.
Ashley’s previous work at the DRC has included projects on hurricane evacuation and sheltering, and the resiliency of transportation corridors during disasters. Her research interests include disasters and crime, police and military involvement in disaster response, environmental crime, and research methods.
