Bio
Joe is a PhD Student in the Department of Sociology and
Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware. Joe first
became interested in Disaster studies as a Research assistant
at what has now become the Center for Disaster Research
and Education at Millersville where he worked on a 911 content
analysis project. He came to the University of Delaware
and DRC in September of 2002 after earning a double major
in sociology and psychology from Millersville University.
His areas of interest include Disaster Research, Collective
Behavior, and Deviance.
DRC Tasks
Joe is currently projects Coordinator for the Disaster Research
Center and the Project Lead on the Urban Search and Rescue
Project. Past Center involvement includes an examination
of emergent inter-organizational response networks in the
September 11th World Trade Center response and work on risk
perception in Alameda County.
Related Experience
Joe recently assisted East Fallowfield Township, PA in updating
their emergency operation plan and is now working with the
township to develop a resource and contact data base to
expedite the process of locating resources in the event
they are needed.
